Pet’s Story or Bio
This beautiful girls name is Isla. She loves to give kisses and cuddle on the couch. However that was not the case when we rescued her. We found her at Villa Atlantico close to Aguada. She weighed 28 pounds and was a full-grown dog. She had had two litters of puppies and the last litter they all died because she was so malnourished. You could see her ribs and her face was very hollow. As missed treated as she was she was still full of love. When we got her back to the mainland we realized that she had never being indoors. She was afraid of the television and when you had something on the stove she was terrified. We hired a professional dog trainer who spent two months rehabilitating her. Today she has become an incredible dog. She has a brother, a Chihuahua named Diego. Diego is the boss. Isla is very loving with Diego. And is very gentle with him, at times we have to pull Diego off of Isla. We believe it is due to her two litters of puppies that have made her such a gentle and loving part of our family. You know you have the right dog when you feel as though you have had your dog for your entire life. And that is how we feel about Isla. We could not picture our lives without her. Today she has a backyard of her own where she feels comfortable to lay outside and not worry about anything but taking in the sunshine. Isla got her name because on her right hip she has a white marking in the shape of Puerto Rico.
