Atticus was a magical boy who left this world too early in March 2014 after a courageous battle against lymphoma. He was only 12 years old. He had been a diet-controlled diabetic for two years, thanks to the help of the Feline Diabetes Message Board. He had no problem taking his insulin injections or being tested several times a day. He even would choose which ear he wanted pricked at testing time and never complained. He was born in my parents' garage and had been my constant companion since he was 5 weeks old. Atticus was instantly loved by every person who met him because he was such a sweet and welcoming soul. Every day was an exciting adventure to him. His purrs and headbutts could cure any human malaise, and his head smelled of fresh-baked bread. He taught me so much about love, devotion, and strength and I miss him every day. There will never be another cat like him.
