Flash is a diabetic cat that I fostered after my previous diabetic cat Pumpkin disappeared. I knew I could help him. He was with a rescue and had already been looking for a forever home for well over a year. He was not at all regulated and very obese. I had only seen his picture online. When I went to pick him up, the rescue asked if I had a shopping cart. I said no - I can carry him to the car. She said you had better get a shopping cart. I never really saw him, until I got him home, but I had a hard time lifting him into the car! When I got home, I pulled him out on the kitchen floor and Al and I couldn't believe what a huge, fat cat he was. After taking away the dry kitty crack and following tight regulation for 5 months Flash went into remission. We knew almost right away that he had come home! He is the most laid back, loving boy ever. Sadly he is back on insulin after 5 years in remission, but we are working on getting him back on track.
