Carly was a shelter cat where I work, and diabetics are euthanized there. They were willing to give her a shot but I was so worried that I took her home to foster, and failed. I did resist for one and a half years, and then when someone was finally interested in adopting her, I couldn't let her go. She was always a very sweet girl, and got along with all the other cats. She was only on insulin a week at my house, then never again. She had briefly gone off insulin at the shelter so I knew that might be possible. She lived with me for 8 years and passed away in 2013.
