Please include a short paragraph that tells voters something fun or interesting about the cat(s) and other animals in the photo. Which cat is diabetic? Is one or more a DCIN rescue? How long have the animals been a part of your family? Give some interesting information about the animal(s) in the photo that will encourage others to vote for your photo.
Riley Marshall, named for a song and an amp, left pawprints on our hearts for ten years before crossing Rainbow Bridge in September of 2016. He was a diabetic warrior for four years. He loved cuddling with his green mouse, carrying around his blue squishy ball, and chasing the red dot. He enjoyed munching on cheddar cheese, watching birdy TV, and he absolutely hated balloons. Before him, we never knew a ten-pound ball of fur could mean so much, but he is the very reason we continue to fight for the homeless, the abused, the disabled, the strays, the ferals, the seniors, and the abandoned. Riley may not have been able to communicate with words, but he had an undeniable soul. He knew when an animal needed help, and he selflessly allowed us to donate food and his gently used toys, blankets, and carriers to animals in need. Since his passing, family and friends have helped us collect and donate food to a local cat rescue each year on his birthday. Today, we continue to love and care for Riley's 13-year-old tuxedo cousin, Bucky. Riley also sent us two new gingers to love fur-ever -- two-year-old Baylor Maxwell and seven-week-old Bentley Leo.
