Please include a short paragraph that tells voters something fun or interesting about the cat(s) and other animals in the photo. Which cat is diabetic? Is one or more a DCIN rescue? How long have the animals been a part of your family? Give some interesting information about the animal(s) in the photo that will encourage others to vote for your photo.
Sweet Texas was born on the Island of Oahu. I met her hanging out with one of the tough feral kats in our little colony, but around Tex he was a smitten kitten and she was the boss when I set out the food. She ate like 2 big cats and she was maybe 7 months and skinny. I trapped her and got her spayed and chipped and the vet then told me I probably had a diabetic kitty on my hands but not to worry, I could manage it, and manage it we did!
We moved to WA a short time later and from there I got on a a diabetic cat blog and followed the tight regulation protocol to a Texas T! We were fortunate, with her high protein diet and BG testing she was off the Juice within 2.5 months! It was quite a journey for us and since then I spread the gospel of species appropriate diets. She is spunky and fun and full of purrsonality. She loves her walks and knows life is good! She always stops to smell the flowers!
