Bruce was my first dobie and I fell in love within seconds. My husband and I had just got married and had the perfect house and fenced in yard to expand our family. He was at the local Humane Society, leaning quietly, ears down with his eyes up as we walked passed his kennel. Not one bark, as if he had given up. Within 25 minutes of visiting and paperwork he was ours February 4, 2011.

He loved his sister, Kitty but needed a lot of rehabilitation. He was badly abused (a piece of stick was removed from under his skin), would cower if you raised your hand to swat a fly. It took 9 months before he would pick up a toy. We adopted a weimie puppy (Jake) Rescue that May 2011 to help with him to learn to trust. Jake and Bruce were inseparable. May 2012 we rescued and brought home Patton, a dobie puppy. Bruce immediately took on the duty of big brother, teaching Patton the ropes and keeping him in line. That fall Bruce took on attending School and did so well we were working on continuing his education to become a service dog. He won over anyone who met him. Even a little girl (about 3 years old) came up to Bruce who was sitting so nicely, asking ‘to pet my big Chihuahua.’ He was taller than her but loved the attention and being pet by anyone. He was such a good boy and assisted in notifying a health issue (high blood pressure) with my mom who had come to visit.

In August 2013 he was diagnosed with Wobblers, and passed August 12, 2014. He will forever be our Wonder Dog!
