How Much Is the Entry Fee?- Every entry is a minimum donation of $10, which is equal to 10 votes ($1=1 vote). Every entrant will receive a copy of the 2021 Canine Listener mailed in the fall of 2021. You can enter additional votes during or even after the entry process. They all count towards your total votes toward your submitted photo. All proceeds from the contest entries and votes will go directly to support Dogs for Better Lives' life-changing programs.
How Many Photos Can I Enter?- You can enter as many as you'd like!
- Each entry has the 10 vote ($10) entry vote requirement.
What are the eligibility requirements?- See our RULES page for eligibility here.
Can I enter professional photos?- Yes, but you MUST obtain permission from the photographer to enter the photo in the contest. Permission must be received by Dogs for Better Lives to be eligible for any of the publication featured prizes before June 10.
- Photographs with photographer's watermarks will not be eligible for publication featured prizes.

How do I enter my photo(s)?How many votes do I need to have my dog featured in the Canine Listener?- The grand prize winner is the only featured page in the 2021 Fall Canine Listener.
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th runner-up contestant photos will be included in a one-page collage in the 2021 Fall Canine Listener.
How do I vote for a photo?- Votes are $1 each and all votes are tax-deductible. You can vote for your own dog's photo(s) as many times as you'd like!
- Vote online:
- Click on the View Entries and Vote link. Search the dog's name and click on their photo. You can then cast your vote(s) on the dog's page!
- The deadline to cast online votes is 8 p.m. PST, June 10, 2021.
- Easily share your dog's photo entry on social media by using the buttons on their page. Share with your friends and family and ask them to vote!
- Vote by phone:
- Call 541-423-8385 during business hours (8 a.m. – 4 p.m. PST) to vote by phone with a credit card (you must have the name of the contestant and dog to vote by phone).
- Votes by phone must be received by 12 p.m. PST, June 10, 2021, to be eligible.
How does the leaderboard work?- The top vote-getters will be featured on the Homepage of the Photo Contest website throughout the open period of the contest (May 1 – June 10).
- See the Prizes page of the website for information on how to win, or help someone else win, one of the prizes.
How will I know if I won?- The winners of the prizes will be contacted by phone and subsequently by email. You can also check the leaderboard to see how your dog's photo is doing in the contest at any time.
- Public announcement of winners will be on Facebook and Instagram on July 1st.
When will I receive my Canine Listener?
- Publications will be mailed in the Fall of 2021.
