*We sat down with Baci — 10, all-black Tibetan Terrier, current contest frontrunner — to discuss the ponytail, the legacy, and the campaign.*

**So, Baci. The ponytail. Talk to us.**
That was not my decision. My mother cornered me with a hair tie and I had a choice: comply, or bite the hand that feeds me. I chose survival. I did not choose dignity.

**Your name means "kisses" in Italian. Fitting?**
Accurate, not fitting. There's a difference. I don't do "cute." I do "affectionate acts of dominance." The ponytail undermines this brand significantly.

**You're a Tibetan Terrier. Bred by monks. Does that inform your worldview?**
Everything I do is a form of meditation. Sitting on the good couch. Ignoring you when you call my name. Enduring grooming decisions I never approved. All very Zen.

**Ten years old — how do you feel about the competition, some of them half your age?**
Puppies peak early. I've been marinating. Also none of them have been publicly humiliated with a hair accessory, so let's not pretend this is a fair fight.

**Any closing statement for voters?**
I didn't ask for this contest. I didn't ask for the ponytail either. Yet here I stand, composed, betrayed, and still the best-looking dog in this competition. Vote accordingly.
