Sheldon (formerly Dark Shadow) had severe patellar subluxation (his hind kneecaps wouldn't stay in place), probably because he was kept in a too-small crate. He has such a sweet, happy-go-lucky, goofy personality that Dogs XL Rescue committed to paying $8,000 to pay for new knees. This Black-eyed Susan picture is from the first of his recoveries. He was in a lot of pain but was still the happiest dog in the world. And he still is!
