Bagel is a hilarious, opinionated, old man who enjoys sleeping, nibbling on his stuffed animals and eating anything and everything! Bagel was an owner surrender to a high kill shelter in CA at the age of 9.5. He made his way to Oregon and found his forever home with us. 6 mo later, Bagel was diagnosed with a rare illness called Idiopathic Chylothroax. With little studies published, most vets are not able to surgically repair this (in Bagel’s case) terminal illness. Thankfully, we found Dr. Sundholm at Dove Lewis who successfully preformed the surgery (thoracic duct ligation & pericardectomy) saving Bagel’s life! After 4 days in Dove’s ICU receiving around the clock love and care, Bagel came home and hasn’t looked back. Thank you DL for all you’ve given us!
