Part of an abandoned litter found in a park at eight weeks of age, he takes his name (as did all of our pets at the time) from a character in The Scarlet Letter. As the book has a drastic lack of heroic male characters (and Dimsdale being out of the question), we came across near the end of the book mention of Governor John Winthrop of Massachusetts. He became "Win" for short; and we've been best buds ever since. Photo is from a few years back before his retirement from Canine Agility (when both of us were younger and more agile. He loved his agility time.
