Your Pet's Bio/Story
Summer is an American Saddlebred. It was a difficult birth since her mother had been ill and on stall rest for 3 mos. and then died the day after birthing. Our 28 year old mare who loved babies became her surrogate. The bond was immediate. However, at 28 there was no milk produced. Summer had to be hand fed every 2 hrs. 24/7 for 2 mos. before a gradual reduction of hrs. of hand feeding could take place until she was weaned at 5 mos. She also had many bouts of illness during her first 3 mos. requiring antibiotics. She is thriving now, loves people, and is a sweetheart. We call her our miracle baby. She's registered as Ariel's Angel after her mother.
