Kita is a friendly and sweet mare I met at the Denver Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center on a peaceful morning in early March. It was a wonderful experience to walk the grounds and see such beautiful horses in spacious and clean paddocks with troughs full of hay. A few horses were resting while others stood nearby and some came over to us for a friendly greeting. We met Kita at the end of the tour. She saw us approaching and starting walking towards us. In my painting, her beautiful pinto friend seems to be giving her courage but in an instant she was getting pets and loved hearing our voices. I'm thankful that Denver Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center is able to save the lives of these majestic creatures.
