Your Pet's Bio/Story
Our family adopted Haku about two years ago from a local rescue for big dogs. Haku is a Great Pyrenees. About three months after we adopted him he started to drag his back legs so we had to visit a couple vets, including a Neurologist to find out what was going on. Turns out he has Degenerative Myelopathy and will slowly become paralyzed. We didn't want to give up and neither did he, so we looked for resources to help us. We found a great harness that helps to move him around and a wheel cart that helps him stay active. Even with this disease, he stays very happy and mostly healthy! He is a very protective dog, especially with his mom, not letting anyone get close to her if he can help it! With close family he is loving and always has a big smile for us.
