Your Pet's Bio/Story
We adopted Mugi 3 days after our 12 year old Mesa (Boxer/Bulldog) passed away on July 2, 2014 after having been adopted from DDFL in August of 2003. We were at the Quebec Shelter donating some of Mesa's belongings when we saw Mugi outside the Surgery Center. My husband learned from Mugi’s DDFL volunteer that she had just recovered from dental and mammary surgeries. We spoke with DDFL staff and adopted Mugi the same day during National Adoption Weekend. It was a difficult time for us following the loss of Mesa 3 days earlier but, we know now that Mugi was there to help heal our hearts, and Mesa would have wanted her home to go to another dog in need. Since then, Mugi has been trained and certified as a Service Dog for my husband’s PTSD.
