Your Pet's Story or Bio
Demo is a service dog puppy in training for Mutts with a Mission, an Assistance Dogs International (ADI) accredited non-profit based in Virginia Beach. He will grow up to help a disabled veteran, wounded warrior or first responder. We are his puppy raisers - he was placed in our arms at eight weeks old and will live with us until he is about two, when he will be ready to move on to the person he is meant to serve. We attend weekly classes where he learns not only basic obedience but also how to pick up household items like keys or a phone (for people with mobility or balance issues), how to open doors and press buttons (for handicapped doors, elevators, and crosswalks) and much more. Wearing his blue vest, he is legally allowed to accompany us almost everywhere - stores, restaurants, etc. He is a very good boy!
