Pet’s Love Story
On May 4, 2020, we rescued this dog who had just lost his Deaf owner. On May 5, we gave him a name that combines the day we got him and the day we named him: Snowbie Juan Kenobi, a perfect blend of Star Wars Day and Cinco de Mayo.
I’m proficient in American Sign Language, our connection felt immediate and he connected so well with our family. Snowbie came to us understanding 23 signs, and with time and patience, he’s learned something new: he has a voice. Now he proudly barks when he’s ready to come in or go out.
He bridges worlds, silence and sound, loss and joy, and fills our home with laughter every single day.
