My Story
Denver was postnatally diagnosed with a rare critical CHD callled obstructed supracardiac TAPVR with a hypoplastic aortic arch and an atrial septal defect. He had a very rocky course and was hospitalized for nine weeks and four days. He was on ECMO for his first six days of life, received a stint in his SVC at two days old to make him a candidate for his TAPVR and arch repair. He spent four weeks and one day on a ventilator after his repair but was able to come off ECMO. He also had chylous effusion, many blood clots and significant left diastolic dysfunction as well that kept him hospitalized and ventilated from surgical complications. Denver was emergently intubated at birth & flown to Duke to be emergently placed on ECMO, he received his OHS at just six days old.
