My Story
Lucas was born on February 02/21/2024 with Taussig-Bing Anomaly (D-TGA, VSD, coarctation of the aorta) Dextrotransposition of the great arteries and VSD. At 8 days after birth, he underwent open heart surgery with arterial switching, closure of the atrial and ventricular septal defect with a bovine pericardial patch, reconstruction of the aortic arch with pulmonary homograft, and resection of coarctation with end-to-end anastomosis. After 3 months we returned home. Our family was a great support to us while we were with Lucas in the hospital. Lucas is always happy and content, he has always proven to be a warrior at heart. The Emerson Rose Foundation was there when we needed it. We are so grateful to them because God put them in our path while we were spending time with Lucas in the hospital. Lucas is our little warrior heart .
