My Story
Kj was born with 2 CHD. Kj had a VSD and an AP WINDOW which is a super rare defect. At 5 months old he went into congested heart failure and needed surgery but they couldn't keep him well enough to have surgery. After getting the news he was in failure he was in and out the hospital, he got RSV, Pneumonia,
then sepsis and a couple of other infections. There was several times that I didn't think id get to bring him home from the hospital. Finally at 8 months old Kj was well enough to go to MUSC and get his heart surgery. Thank God for Dr. K for saving my babies life. Kj also has VACTERL and recently diagnosed as level 3 severe autism. Kj was born without his thumbs and only half his radius bones. He has under went 2 orthopedic surgeries and has 2 more to go to give him thumbs. Kj still has heart issues and relays on sildenafil to keep his heart doing good. We have to keep his heart going good to be able to continue with all of his other surgeries that he will need. KJ is my little miracle and a fighter he has been fighting
everyday of his life. Kj is the perfect example of a CHD WARRIOR.
