My Story
Born at 34 weeks, I fought for 8 months inpatient and finally came home! 3 months were in the NICU and 5 were in PCICU. I was only 3 pounds and 14 ounces when I was born but that didn’t stop me from fighting. I was born on New Years Eve, literally came in with a bang. It was a complete surprise because my parents didn’t expect me till mid January. That early morning was very unknown because they weren’t sure I was going to come out alive but here I am showing the goodness of our God! In those 8 months, I had 2 cath procedures and praise the Lord I was not HLHS. Though grateful my journey wasn’t as difficult as expected, it didn’t come without its challenges. I later underwent 2 open heart surgeries. The first to repair my narrow aorta and the second to patch up my VSD. My last surgery was to place my Gtube. Some days were calm and others I was causing chaos! I’ve enjoyed my time out of the hospital with mama and daddy. Of course they still have to take me to many appointments to follow up on my heart but also to check my lungs, kidneys, and thyroid! Though a difficult and scary time, I’m still the sweetest, smiliest and strongest girl my mama knows! We thank the Lord, we made it through and can now spend our days making memories with laughter, amazement at how far I’ve come and praising Him!
