My Story
Hey I’m Cali Jo!
I’m a 5 month old heart warrior!
I was born with a VSD, coarctation of the aorta, and mitral valve stenosis.

When I was born the doctors said I was a perfectly healthy baby girl!

Until my 2 week old appointment when my pediatrician heard a murmur..

On February 21, 2025, when I was 1 month old, my parents and family found out about my diagnosis through an echocardiogram.

I was that 1 out of 100. I had CHD.

I was admitted into a children’s hospital an hour and a half away from my home. Where I went through numerous test, including a heart catheterization.

On March 4, 2025 I had open heart surgery.

After a 6 hours long surgery, I came out of surgery and they informed my family everything went great!

On March 18, 2025; the day I turned 2 months, I came home!!

I came home with a NG feeding tube and had to deal with the complications of that for a while.

By the time I was 4 months I was NG tube free!

I am now 5 months old and thriving! I’m sitting up, working on learning to crawl, and I even have my first tooth coming in!!

I am Cali Jo, and I AM A WARRIOR !!
