My Story
Haven was born with a complete AVSD and a rare genetic disorder, with only 45 known medical cases in the world. Despite her doctor’s predictions of heart failure at 6 months old and failure to thrive, she continues to beat all the odds. One of the holes in her heart healed on its own and we were able to wait for open heart surgery at MUSC until she was 5 years old. She’s hit every milestone and continues to amaze us. Haven is now starting kindergarten and loves participating in dance class and playing with her two little brothers. We pray her story continues to inspire others with hope for their children’s future.
