My Story
Caden was born in April 2023 at MUSC with d-TGA, VSD and pulmonary stenosis. Caden had 2 cath procedures done before his first open heart surgery at 4.5 months old. He then began refusing bottles and had g tube surgery 3 weeks later. The next 6 months were full of hospitalizations due to respiratory illnesses. In March 2024, Caden had another cath performed and 3 days later, the day he turned 11 months old, he underwent his second open heart surgery despite having a completely collapsed left lung. It was a long 11 hour procedure that was a full repair of all of his defects. Caden recovered much better and quicker than anyone expected!

Caden still has some residual pulmonary stenosis that we are closely monitoring and that was unable to be solved with his 4th cath procedure. He has also had multiple ENT and pulmonology scopes and surgeries and is still 100% g tube fed. Caden attends multiple therapies a week but he doesn't let any of that slow him down any or dim his bright personality. Caden is full of life, always wanting to play ball like his big brother and lives for being outside or in the water.

Caden is a blessing to our family and we have seen firsthand how God has carried him through many trials so far in his little life. We are blessed to have been loved on multiple times by ERHF and appreciate all that they do for heart warrior families!
