My Story
Everly was born at MUSC on May 11, 2024. We knew about her special heart prenatally, but our biggest fears were confirmed 3 days after her birth. HLHS… which meant multiple open heart surgeries and a likely heart transplant down the road. That was a hard day, but we knew what God called us to He would bring us through. Three days after that- at 6 days old- Everly had her first open heart surgery, the Norwood. We were in and out of the hospital after that, with her coding in August. The Lord preserved her life and we were later admitted for heart failure in October 2024. We stayed inpatient until her Bidirectional Glenn surgery at 7 months old. After spending Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years in the hospital, we finally brought our little warrior home. She is currently living with Glenn circulation and a leaky valve, which keeps us on our toes. Emerson Rose was such a blessing to us, especially while we were inpatient. The parking pass they supplied us allowed us to leave the hospital as we pleased without worrying about paying every time (an expense that adds up!). The encouragement their team brought us every time they visited was God-sent. And the meal vouchers they gave us alleviated more financial stress. We simply can’t thank them enough! Everly is a living testimony to the goodness of God, even in the hard times. This is her story for His glory!
