My Story
At just three months old, our sweet Conrad was diagnosed with a rare and complex congenital heart defect called cc-TGA with a large VSD and pulmonary stenosis. In simpler terms, the structures of his heart were flipped and misconnected—meaning the chambers and vessels weren’t aligned as they should be, and blood wasn’t circulating properly through his body.
We were devastated, overwhelmed, and scared—but Conrad quickly showed us he is braver and stronger than we ever imagined. At just a few months old, he underwent his first open heart surgery to place a main pulmonary artery (MPA) band, helping control blood flow until he’s ready for future repairs.
Just one week after his heart surgery, Conrad had a second procedure to place a G-tube, allowing him to receive the nutrition he needs to grow stronger in preparation for what’s still ahead.
Through it all, Conrad continues to amaze us. He smiles through every appointment, giggles during echocardiograms, and keeps us laughing even on the hard days. His spirit is unshaken—he is a fighter, a heart warrior, and our little light.
We are so proud of his courage and resilience. His heart may be different, but it is full of strength and endless love.
This photo isn’t just a sweet moment—it’s a celebration of everything Conrad has overcome and a reminder of the battles he continues to face with so much joy. We are forever inspired by him.
