Chopper Chewbacca's mama was rescued a week before she gave birth to 9 or 10 puppies who all looked very different. After a DNA test, we learned that he has over 30 breeds, so he comes from a long line of mutts! One of those breeds may or may not be a Wookiee... if you pick him up when he's tired he makes a Wookiee sound, and he has the right fur color... just sayin' (hence the name).
