Rules

Each entry will be $10 to the Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.
Enter as many photos as you desire, however, each requires an entry form and a $10 donation (For mailed in entries: make checks payable to "Friends of the Animal Center Foundation" or "FACF" and send to PO Box 1345, Iowa City, IA 52244).
Entries will be accepted from June 1st through Friday, July 31, 2020.
Emphasis of the photo should be on pets, please do not include people. It does not matter how many pets are in one photo. "Pets" include dogs, cats, horses, small mammals, reptiles and birds.
Eligibility. Everyone is eligible to participate in the 2021 "A Year of Paws" Pet Photo Contest and Fundraiser. It is a fundraiser for the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center, so all entries and monies are welcome. However, entries from employees of ICAC and members of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Animal Center Foundation are not eligible to win the coveted "Pet of the Year Cover Page" Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center or live in Iowa City to be eligible to enter the contest
Anyone may vote for any entry in the 2021 "A Year of Paws" Pet Photo Contest and Fundraiser. Each $1.00 donation to FACF counts as one vote. You may cast as many votes as you like at any time for any entry. You are allowed and encouraged to vote for your own pets. Who loves them more than you do? Please remember that all votes are donations to help care for and feed the homeless animals at the Shelter and donations go directly to care of the animals.
Photos must be high-resolution (300 dpi or greater) to be considered for a month spread in the calendar
Photos with professional photographer watermarks will not be eligible to be included in the calendar
Photos deemed offensive, indecent or obscene will be removed from the contest
All photos submitted become the property of Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.
This year, 72 photos will be featured in the FACF 2021 "A Year of Paws" calendar:
The photo receiving the most votes will be the "Pet of the Year" and that photo will grace the cover of the FACF 2021 "A Year of Paws" Calendar and will also be featured as the January 2022 "Pet of the Month". We will feature 12 "Pets of the Month" (includes the "Pet of the Year" featured as January 2022, pet of the month).
The top 11 photos receiving the most votes (1 through 11) will be featured as a "Pet of the Month" in the calendar.
"Best In Show" competition. A panel of three judges will choose one "best photo" that will be the 12^th "Pet of the Month".
The next 60 top vote recipients will be featured as "Pets of the Week" where we will feature five "Pets of the Week" for each month in the FACF 2021 "A Year of Paws" Calendar.
If you would like to guarantee that your pet's photo will be in the calendar, you can make a $100 donation and we will save a Pet of the Week spot for you. There will only be 12 of these guaranteed spots. Once the 12 spots are purchased, we will take down this option.
Online voting via www.facf.org will end at 11:59:59 pm CST on July 31st.
