"Autumn Leaves" is my 2017 Fall companion piece to my earlier IMAGES 2018 submission, Spring "Weeping Cherry Tears". In both instances, I cut a branch from one of our trees -- in this case a Red Maple, and arranged it on a Lightbox constructed with a 2'x2' raised wooden garden bed, covered by a sheet of white plexiglass and illuminated by a floor of LED lights. Then I looked through photos I had taken in past years . I found a Fall photo I had taken in 2012 at the Audubon Society in Fairfield, CT of backlit yellow leaves against a bright blue sky. I combined these two photos as layers in Photoshop and liked vibrance and intensity of the 3 colors -- red, blue and yellow.
