Photograph Description
One in a series of images taken for a portfolio entitled"Abandoned", What Remains," North Dakota. I journeyed to North Dakota in search of abandoned towns and structures. I did some research on some of these towns and then flew to Bismarck and began a 1000 mile journey to some of these places. Along the way I found interesting things not on my itinerary Many of these places were settled as part of the great western expansion that brought people west in search of a better life. Through the Homestead Act and expansion of the railroad towns grew. As hard times, difficult weather and a changing economy people left and what remains is what I searched out to photograph on this journey.
