Photograph Description
I took this photograph of two Inuit women, mother and daughter, on the arctic tundra in Canada's Nunavut territory, when they were going hunting caribou on their quad. Nunavut is a land where the lives of the Inuit people and caribou, historically one of their main food sources, are deeply interdependent. The weathered, expressive faces of the two hunters tell the story of these strong and independent women.
