Photograph DescriptionI took this photograph in Eastern Greenland, where towering icebergs detach from glaciers and drift in the North Atlantic. We were sailing at dawn in a fjord when we passed by this iceberg that was partly lit by the warm light of the rising sun as the iceberg was drifting right next to the rocky cliff of the fjord, creating a striking juxtaposition between the smoother shape and cooler hues of the ice and the jagged texture and warm hues of the rock strata.
