My friend Chris Fray was caught in this perfectly timed moment by another dear friend and photographer, Garrett Beltis, during my grandparents’ 85th wedding anniversary celebration—held in my home on December 2, 2017. Mid-toast, mid-snap, mid-spill—Chris was doing his best to document the night, glass in hand. All around him, walls of photos told the story of Ann and John Betar’s enduring love story. On a night full of heart and history, this accidental splash became one of the evening’s most cherished captures. A little wine lost, a lot of joy gained.
