Photograph Description
In late fall and winter, I often photograph at Brookfield Place in New York’s Financial District. Near the end of the workday, late afternoon sun pours in and skims across the polished floor, throwing bright rectangles of light onto the walls and long reflections onto the marble.

When the elevators open, people spill out in quick waves. From my low angle, the scene becomes a moving pattern of legs, shadows, and mirrored shapes. In this frame, most figures pass through in silhouette, while one man steps into a clean band of sunlight—his sweater and blue trousers briefly separating him from the darker flow around him.
