Photograph DescriptionAt the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York, I photographed the museum's spiral concrete staircase, designed by I. M. Pei. The stair treads are covered in granite, and the curved walls still show the wood grain left by the concrete forms. Light from above revealed the different textures and tones of the materials.
