Photograph DescriptionIt is a rare opportunity to get to the Top the Cologne Cathedral in Germany, but I was fortunate to have had the opportunity. After 533 steps, I landed on the highest observational platform. The views of the Rhine River and the Hohenzollern Bridge filled with love locks- were breathtaking, but what captivated me even more, were the massive, symmetrical spires. They stood gallantly and loyally protecting it's kingdom. The spires are meant to draw our eyes up, representing heavenly aspiration. Experiencing the open air on the top of this magnificent cathedral was a spiritual endeavor for me - It allowed me to see things from a different perspective.
