I found this speckled bird egg by chance while out shooting images, and on the same patch of ground I spotted a withered. The idea came to me that one represented new life full of promise while the other a life spent. But the new is cradled by the old, a metaphor perhaps that we are shaped by those who come before us, who we should learn from.
