Photograph DescriptionInternational renowned glass artist and Tacoma native Dale Chihuly has influenced glass art education in the Pacific Northwest. He has a glass musuem at the base of the Seattle Space Needle, as well as installations in many places. Here we see 2 Crystal Towers made of huge blown glass shapes, which light up at night on the Bridge of the Glass Museum of Tacoma. Inside the museum is a learning Hot Lab, with multiple furnaces and live glass blowing demonstarations for the public.
In the distance you can see Jeanne, my favorite art docent, on this bridge with the Glass Towers. This part of the museum is free. There is also a wall of glass sculpture on this bridge with places to sit and enjoy.
