I met Chico at FFAS shelter my first day as a Dog Care Volunteer on 4/16/22. From that date until 8/28/22. I would walk Chico 3-4 days a week in the mornings. We ended our walks spending time together at the bench near the shelter. I would pet & play with Chico, give him chew sticks. This made him happy because he gave me kisses for it, we had bonded with each other. On a FFAS Facebook post seeking adopters for Chico. I commented "if my home dog Alex got along with other dogs, I would've adopted Chico already". Alex lost his battle with cancer, he passed away on 8/30/22. With the help from Staff, I adopted Chico the next day. Adopting Chico was a blessing, he helped with the grieving of Alex's passing, became my ESA K9, keeps me healthy walking him. Chico is very special to me.
