Cat's Story or Bio
My family adopted Hope last Thanksgiving when she was 3 months old. She was barely 2 pounds when we brought her home. We adopted her from the Humane Society and when we walked into the cat room, she jumped right onto my husband’s shoulders. After having her home for a couple of months we noticed she wasn’t thriving. We thought she had a bad respiratory infection. However, when our vet performed a scope of her airway, he discovered a polyp blocking most of her airway. This was causing her not to eat and to have labored breathing. During the procedure, she suffered from lack of oxygen to her brain when the polyp was removed. The next week was very touch and go and we didn’t think she was going to survive. The lack of oxygen led her to be blind and immobile. However, by the end of the week she began to walk. We were able to bring her home, and while it has been quite an adjustment, she has started to thrive. She has adjusted very well to not being able to see and she has put on much needed weight. She is a playful little girl who just turned a year old. She loves to snuggle, eat treats and sit outside. She is currently on prednisone to keep the polyp from growing any bigger. We think she is an exceptional little fighter and her name could not be more perfect.
