Petey's story is sweet, mysterious and a little sad all at the same time. 8 years ago we received in the mail a post card from a cat rescue that we had previously adopted from with a picture of a 3 legged kitten (tripod) kitten whose whole side had been shaved with a large stitched incision after his back leg had been amputated. The shelter believes he was thrown out of a moving vehicle in an attempt to rid themselves of an unwanted kitten and now they were looking for a perfect family for him. He was cute but we already had 2 cats and decided now was not the time. My husband and I agreed that our daughter who was in kindergarten at the time was never to see the post card because if she did we would have another cat real fast. We don't know what happened but a few days later she came to us holding said postcard inquiring about this 3 legged kitty. The post card apparently had been left right on the dining room table for all to see. After several emails and much research about tripods, Petey joined us in his forever home. Petey still acts like a kitten, runs, jumps and navigates like a 4 legged furrbaby. If you have the opportunity to change the life of a tripod kitty I highly recommend it.
