Why do you love your rescue pet?
We adopted Ike from a rescue in 2017. He was the 4-legged light of our lives for 4 wonderful years, and he introduced us to the love of dogs. But Ike's impact in death changed our lives forever.

Ike was an incredible dog. He got along with everyone--dogs, cats, and humans. He had many endearing quirks, like howling in the car when we'd reach our destination, or his ability to shrink into the tightest little coil to cuddle. But what we'll remember most about Ike is his love, loyalty, and desire to be near his people.

Ike was hit by a car and killed in Spring 2021 after a days-long search. Losing Ike was devastating, but it led us to become shelter volunteers and fosters and ignited a passion for animal rescue and welfare. Through that experience, we've met many wonderful humans and friends, and we found an outlet to channel our love for Ike to other dogs, including our current rescue pups.

Ike's passing also led us to FIDO. Following his death, our good friends raised money in his name to install fences. We've since become involved with FIDO's enrichment program, where we get to shower love on another dog in need.

Ike epitomized canine companionship in life. We strive to make his legacy in death an outpouring of love for other animals who need it. We are so thankful to Ike for giving us these experiences and showing us how impactful the love of a dog can be!
