Why do you love your rescue pet?
Flounder spent the first four months of his life in a cold, bare whelping box unable to walk or even crawl due to a condition called Swimmer Syndrome. He watched each of his siblings go off to homes while he laid alone. He was finally surrendered and rescued because several organizations came together, including F.I.D.O, to save him. With daily physical therapy and endless amounts of love from his foster family, Flounder began to scoot around on his tummy. Scooting became crawling, crawling became walking, and recently walking became running in the yard with his furry siblings.

Flounder has to work five times as hard as other dogs to accomplish the most basic tasks but he does it every time. He never gives up and his tiny nub of a tail never stops wagging. Flounder is all of the reasons why backyard breeding is bad and he is all of the reasons why rescuers do what they do. He has made every person he has met fall instantly in love and has hundreds of fans cheering him on.
