Why do you love your rescue pet?
Bailey, or "Jan Brady," is a sweet little 45-pound rescue pup who is our "Middle Child". Not the baby of the family like her feline little brother Mikey Meowers, her canine little brother Big Henry, and not the eldest like her feline sister Charley, Bailey is stuck right in the middle of the pack. Bailey's identity crisis started when the shelter she was surrendered to with her mom labeled her as a "He." A rescue took her mom, but left Bailey at the shelter scared and alone. We brought Bailey home to foster her and she was frozen in fear. She would only potty in her kennel at night, or on the deck, inside an X Pen, covered in towels for complete privacy. At potty time, we would scoop her up from above from her hiding place in the corner of the couch, place her in her X-pen to do her business, and then pick her back up from above. Two weeks into fostering her, I managed to peek through the curtains while she was using the bathroom and noticed she was going potty out the back and not the front. HE WAS A SHE!!! Yes for a solid two weeks, we thought she was a male pup! Bailey does her best to stand out as the twice mislabeled middle child with her super bossy disposition and questionable fashion choices (she loves wigs!) In her free time, she enjoys playing outside and spending time with her imaginary boyfriend, George Glass.
