Why do you love your rescue pet?
Russell was surrendered to IACS as a terrified 6 month old puppy. Although I had 4 other dogs at the time, I knew my dogs would all welcome a pup. And they did. And Russell bonded to all of them, although always the low pooch in the pecking order. Despite my constant babying of Russell, it took him about 5 years to actually bond with me, because his fear of humans was so strong. Yet, the sweet little dude has never shown an iota of aggression toward people or dogs. His entire life has been trying to fade into the background and fly under the radar. He is the sweetest little portly gent now, and I love him for all his struggles to gain confidence.
