Why do you love your rescue pet?
Charley was found abandoned outside an entrance of IU North Hospital at 6 weeks old. A coworker came into the office and swore she heard a kitten meowing outside. I immediately went outside to see . After spotting her, I chased her through the bushes for 2 hours trying to catch her. I had no luck because she was small and fast ! A kind young man who was eating lunch outside let me have the remains of his taco salad. I placed it down and she ran right straight to it and started eating. I scooped her up right away and took her into the office where I worked. She sat on my lap the rest of the day until it was time to go home. All of the patients loved her. I took her to the vets after work to get her checked out. The next day some I heard a litter of kittens had been abandoned by that specific door. She must have escaped when the others were caught! Charley likes to nap in the sun, eat her Purr Pops, and keep an eye on her little brother Mikey Meowers (past furry Valentine contest winner). She is the oldest of our 4 rescue pack. The Cat Distribution System was successful that day and we are so happy it chose us to be Charley’s family !
