A little about me...Alone, homeless, and pregnant on the streets at the age of one… Blind Beagle Daisy was picked up and incarcerated. She gave birth in the hoosegow before she and her pups were bailed out by Gainesville Pet Rescue just before Christmas. With her puppies all gone to new homes, she was left alone again – one of the last ones to choose from the week before Christmas. Sweet but cursed, she was a Frengle. A purposeful or accidental mix of Beagle and Frenchie - inheriting the worst traits from both. She was stubborn, but faithful, with a twisted stub of a tail, a brindle tricolor with a strong prey drive and a penchant for bolting for the hills whenever the opportunity presented itself. She blinded herself one night, taking out the sight in her left eye on a trailer hitch while chasing a opossum in the dark. But at least she figured it gave her a good Blues name. She spends her days patrolling the fence, barking at the neighbors, chasing lizards, surreptitiously nipping at the unguarded fingers of visitors when their backs are turned, and chewing holes in her dog beds when she’s not sleeping in them. It’s not a bad life, but it would be better if they’d leave the damn gate open once in a while. That opossum is still out there somewhere.
