A little about me...
The reason Matcha was available for us was because someone rejected him for 'being too dumb'. The story of how this blub of orange and white got adopted by us started like every other cat's journey to a loving home: mom births a litter, owners get rid of kittens, Humane Society takes in kittens and places them with the right people. And that's what we knew of Matcha for at least 6 months. But that wasn't it.
Matcha was dropped at The Humane Society by a person who claimed the cat looked and acted a little less than smart, I was later told by the employee who took him in. Unfamiliar with this story, we fostered him so our older cat had a friend and would stop bitting me. Suffice to say it was an instant friendship between the two purrers. However, I had decided since the beginning not to keep him because 2 was too much (ha) and we gave him out to an acquaintance after a few weeks of Matcha staying at our place.
Oof, that day was a dread a work. I could have never foreseen how much I missed Matcha and how sad I was that I would not see his cross-eyes anymore. But the deal was done and Matcha was with new owners.
Remember that he was rejected for 'being dumb'? Well, these new owners called two days later also saying that Matcha was *that* and were giving him out for adoption. Believe me when I tell you I have never said 'I want him' faster than during that phone call.
