A little about me...
Blackbeard, or BB as we call him, showed up on our doorstep as a 4 week old kitten in December of 2020 with an injured protruding eye. We live in a semi-rural area with a lot of birds of prey and other predators around, and it was getting cold so we knew he wouldn't last long out there on his own. He was spooked, skinny, and in pain, but we managed to catch him and bring him inside. Our vet confirmed that he'd need to have his eye removed but that he was too small for surgery, and while we hadn't planned on adding another cat to our home, we knew he needed us and that he found our door for a reason. A few weeks of fattening him up later, he had his eye removal surgery and despite a few bumps in the road during his recovery, he was off to the races and ready for a happy life. All of our pets are rescues, and BB, as the youngest and smallest, totally rules the roost. He's the funniest, quirkiest, spiciest little guy and he's the perfect addition to our home--we can't imagine our lives without him and we're so glad he knew which door to come to for help. Long live our tiny pirate captain, Blackbeard the One Eyed Wonder!
